NEW YEAR, SAME GOALS: WIN STATE!!!

We are waiting on confirmation of a pool site and schedule so we can set up practices and start training.  It will not be before Sept 10, as I will be at the World Swimming Clinic the entire week before.  We'll let you know something via school announcement, school website, email, and this blog.  If you do not receive an email with a repeat of all the info in this blog post, please send me your email address at my address below!

We are looking at retaining the previous year's schedule if possible: MRHS on M-Tu-W-Th 4:00-6:00, substituting Friday for any missed day due to a meet at MRHS.

We will implement dryland strength work early in the season, and you will need to obtain a swimming eqpt bag for your own gear, not relying on the availability of MRHS property, which we really shouldn't be using anywayItems you will need include a mesh swim bag WITH YOUR NAME ON IT, kickboard, fins, paddles, pullbuoy, snorkel, and stretchcord.  I'll give you a SPECIFIC list of items shortly.  Don't just go buy a pair of fins or paddles because they are cheap or a nice color or on sale, we would like you to have SPECIFIC types/styles of equipment.  Sit tight for now!

A meeting for all interested students will be scheduled next THURSDAY, AUGUST 30, right after school lets out.  Those unable to attend may visit with me in my classroom, Rm 215, same day, 715-745am.  The big thing to take care of FIRST is getting your physicals, and you will need a special form for that to take with you to your physician.  If you already had one, good for you, but the data needs to be on the OFFICIAL form.  I will have those available for you in the front office and also before school in my classroom on GOLD days.  All forms will be in a prepared packet for you, and I will have them with me and also in the front office, see Mrs. Hoth or Mrs. Nitsch or whoever is working there when you come by.

No news on a pool on our own campus yet, but will keep you updated if there is progress on that front.

My school email is dabbott (at) pj23 (dot) org.

Looking forward to seeing you and answering all your questions, and meeting all the new swimmers!
